Proceeds of the 2023 Oktoberfest 5k will benefit The International Dyslexia Association's (IDA) Kansas and Missouri Branch. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teachers, individuals with dyslexia, their families, and the communities that support them. We also offer reading scholarships for students and teacher training scholarships for teachers. IDA actively promotes effective teaching approaches and related clinical research and or/ educational intervention strategies for those with dyslexia. We facilitate the exploration of the causes and early identification of dyslexia and are committed to the responsible and wide dissemination of research-based knowledge. The mission of the Kansas-Missouri branch IDA is to give students with dyslexia a better learning experience through teacher training and scholarships, parent support, and student empowerment.
