2023 Planks and Thanks Challenge

The Planks and Thanks Challenge will be supporting:

• KNOX, an organization based in Hartford, Connecticut that uses horticulture as a catalyst for community engagement.  KNOX's mission is rooted in the idea that we empower people throughout Hartford to create stronger, greener, healthier neighborhoods. Through horticulture and the power of nature, KNOX engages people from all walks of life and every corner of Hartford in contributing to this work. During the 2020 growing season,  volunteer gardeners donated over a ton of fresh produce to neighbors in need, and KNOX urban farmers provided over three tons of produce to Hartford Public Schools.
• Manna on Main, an organization based in Lansdale, Pennsylvania that  is committed to ending hunger in the North Penn region by providing food, fulfilling social service and education needs, and conducting community outreach. Through a food pantry and soup kitchen, emergency financial aid, counseling and referrals, and education opportunities, we serve those in need with the hope “that everyone might be fed.”
• Houston Food Bank, founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network, with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. We distribute fresh produce, meat and nonperishables and prepare nutritious hot meals for kids in the state-of-the-art Keegan Kitchen.
