Help Us Build and Care for the Palmetto Trail
The True to the Brew 10K benefits the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, the nonprofit that builds and maintains the Palmetto Trail, a planned 500-mile hiking and biking trail across South Carolina, from the mountains to the sea. You'll run or hike part of it, the Peak to Prosperity Passage, finishing on the Broad River Trestle.
Our mission is “to foster an appreciation for South Carolina’s natural and cultural resources, providing opportunities for active recreation on the Palmetto Trail and other trail systems that can be enjoyed by all in South Carolina, regardless of gender, race, creed, age, or ability.”
Our goal for the 2027 race is $3,000. Your donation supports:
- Trail maintenance: keeping existing passages safe and open, including repairs after storm damage
- Connecting the trail: building new sections to close the gaps between passages and complete the route across the state
- Tools and safety equipment for the staff and volunteers who do the work on the ground
- Public access: keeping the trail free and open for hikers, runners and bikers in communities across South Carolina
