The race will be on rolling terrain on Elk Hill Farm. The race will be a fund raiser for the Goochland GVA 250th Commission. The Commission is working in partnership with the Goochland Historical Society and Goochland County to organize events to celebrate The 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence as well as events leading up to and to the end of the war with Cornwallis surrender at Yorktown. British General Cornwallis spent a couple of weeks at Elk Hill Farm before continuing onto Yorktown and his eventual surrendered.
