What is Disability Pride Month

In alignment with the July 1990 passing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), disability month is celebrated every year in July. This observance aims to promote visibility and mainstream awareness of the positive pride felt by those within the disability community. Using bold images and powerful words, disability pride awareness events and parades strive to educate and empower people with and without disabilities. You see, pride comes from celebrating the unique experiences that we have as people with differing abilities and the contributions that we offer society.

Team "To Do" List

Choose a Captain
Before you register, pick a team captain. Your captain will begin registration and will receive a code to share with other team members to register.

Choose your Costumes
Costumes are not required, but there will be an award for the best team costumes, and the judges will deeply appreciate a well-coordinated theme.

Vehicles & Drivers
Your team is responsible for vehicle transportation from challenge to challenge. We encourage one vehicle for your team for ease of parking, safety, and efficiency. In addition, we recommend carpooling to the start of Expedition at the Clackamas Town Center. That way you do not have to drive back to the Clackamas Town Center at the end of a long and fun day.

Fundraise with your Team

See how big of an impact your team can make on supporting funding for disability services, including housing, transportation, and supportive technology. Visit your team registration to learn more about fundraising as a team.

Aid Stations, First Aid, Medical Emergencies

An Aid Station will be located at each challenge, providing water, snacks, and a first aid kit.
