Description

The 49th Annual Apple Festival 5k and 1 mile race is a great way to start the Georgia Apple Festival presented by the Ellijay Lions Club. It is one of the longest running 5K events in Georgia.

Race Day Schedule

Race Day Registration and packet pickup begins at 7AM

5K starts at 8AM

Fun Run starts at 8:45AM

Awards begin at 9:15AM

Awards

Unique, one of a kind awards are handed out to:

Overall Male and Female

Overall Masters Male and Female

Overall Grand Masters Male and Female

Age group awards in 5 Year age groups beginning with 10 and Under up to 80 and Over

Shirts and Goodies

Shirts are guaranteed if registered by 10/2/25. Those who register after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or shirt size.

There will be plenty of refreshments after the race.

Results and Timing

The race will be accurately timed by BT Race Timing. This race WILL NOT be chip timed. Please fill out the finish card, handed to you as you finish. Put your name, age, bib number and gender on the card, no need to put your time. Please turn in your card at the results boards for it to be posted. Failure to turn in your card will prohibit you from receiving an award on race day. Complete results will be posted to RunSignUp.com, BTRaceTiming.com, Athlinks.com and RunGeorgia.com after the race

Parking

There will be plenty of free parking around Ellijay Elementary School.

Please be aware that the Apple Festival will be taking place immediately after the race so some roads will be blocked.

Race Series

This race is part of the Black Bag Race Series and the Clover Glove Race Series

Both in person and virtual runners will receive series points.

Virtual and At Home Runners

If you sign up for virtual/at home option, you must submit your time by noon on October 11th.

You submit your time by clicking the results tab at the top of this page, then click the submit times at the top of the results page.

Virtual runners DO NOT receive bibs, shirts or awards.

Other Information and Refunds

In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds for any reason.
