Race Day Information!!

Packet Pick-up & Race Check-In:

SATURDAY MORNING (APRIL 25th): Harmon Field Concession Stand from 6:30 am to 7:50 am

117 Harmon Field Road

Half Marathon Start Time: 8:00am

Fun Run Start Time: 8:15am

Parking:

  • Race Day Parking is available anywhere within Harmon Field on the Equestrian side of the park, as well as the paved parking lot behind Tryon Arts and Crafts Center (Tennis and Basketball Courts). Follow “event parking” signs.
  • Harmon Field will be barricaded at the last baseball field near the playground to accommodate our vendors and for the safety of our run festival attendees. You may use the gravel road to find parking on Harmon Field’s equestrian side. No parking in the sand rings!
  • No runner parking in the gravel lot on the right at the entrance of the park. This will be marked and is reserved for dog park parking ONLY.

Bathrooms:

  • One standard porta-potty and one ADA porta-potty as well as a handwash station will be located on-site at Harmon Field near the cabin. There are also public bathrooms at Harmon Field.
  • Two porta-potties will also be on the half marathon racecourse at the intersection of River Road and Morgan Chapel Road; you will pass them twice.
  • No additional porta-potties will be along the fun run route. 

T-Shirts:

  • Runners who registered by March 31st and were guaranteed a T-shirt will receive the size T-shirt they ordered at check-in. In the event extra shirts are available, those will be given out on a first come first serve basis, no size guarantees are available. You may exchange t-shirt sizes if they are available after the awards ceremony.

Course Aid Stations:

Fun Run Water/Gatorade Stop will be located at the Fun Run turn around just before the 1 mile marker. 

Half Marathon Water/Gatorade stations will be located at the following approximate mile markers:

1. Water Stop #1/#8: Miles 1.1 & 11.7

Clarence Rhodes Road and Hwy 108

2. Water Stop #2/#7: Miles 2.1 & 10.7

Clarence Rhodes Road and Screven Road

3. Water Stop #3/#6: Miles 3.6 & 9.1

Intersection of Screven Road/ Hooker Road/ River Road “Horseshoe Turn”

4. Water Stop #4/#5: Miles 5.3 & 7.5 (Also Porta-Potties)

  • Half Marathon Runners will pass each water stop twice. Both Gatorade and Water will be available at all stops. There will not be any energy chews or similar products at the aid stations, so if you need them, please carry some with you.
  • A paramedic will be present along the racecourse, as well as at the finish line for anyone who needs immediate medical attention.
  • Water and Gatorade, along with light snacks will be available for runners at the finish line.
  • The course will close at 12:00pm. After 12:00 participants may still finish the race, but emergency services may not be available after 12:00 and the roads will no longer be intermittently closed to traffic.

Finisher Medals & Awards:

  • All finishers will receive a finishers medal when they cross the finish line for both the fun run and the half marathon
  • The awards ceremony for half marathon participants will begin at approximately 12:00 pm at the Festival DJ Tent. M/F Overall Awards, M/F Masters Awards and Top 3 in age group M/F awards.  
  • There are no awards for the Fun Run- only finisher medals.
  • No awards will be mailed. If you are not present for the awards ceremony, you may pick up your award week after the race, or a friend may pick it up for you.  Email harmonfieldhalf@gmail.com after the race to schedule a time to pick up your award.

Post Race Festival until 2:00pm:

Please join us for our post-race festival! In addition to finish line snacks, we will have the Chick-fil-A truck on site serving breakfast and lunch items for purchase. We will also have free hotdogs donated by Trade Street Diner while supplies last. Kona Ice Shaved Ice Truck and Vibes Fizzy Pop Shop truck will also be available.   

Visit our local vendors and sponsor tents to see what our amazing community has to offer and stick around for music from DJ Aaron Green.  Bring a chair and enjoy a day of community and fellowship at our beautiful Harmon Field.

Dog Policy:

  • If you are planning to bring your dog to the fun run, all Harmon Field Dog Policy rules apply.
  • Please only bring a pet if they are friendly and not sensitive to crowds or loud sounds.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times, no exceptions.
  • No Dogs on ANY sports fields.
  • You MUST pick up after your pet- please come prepared with your own pet waste bags.
  • Dogs may only be on the track WHILE completing the Fun Run. This is a temporary exception. After you have completed the Fun Run, please exit the track with your pet.
  • Dogs must be vaccinated and owner must be able to provide proof of vaccination if requested. Valid Rabies Tag is required.

Extras:

  • Half Marathon Runners will begin the race at the same time, at 8:00am. There is no rolling/wave start. This race is not a certified course.  
  • The Fun Run will begin at approximately 8:15am.
  • A portion of the racecourse will be closed to traffic, however most of it will not. Traffic should be minimal on most of the course, but please be aware cars could be present.
  • The race will go on rain or shine (unless storms are present).
  • This race is non-refundable and we are not offering deferrals.
  • We do not have a lost and found. All articles of clothing discarded along the racecourse will be donated to a local charity.
  • Follow the arrows along the course. The course is an out and back with plenty of signage and course monitors.
  • Results will be posted as soon as possible after the race to our RunSignUp website.
