
Since our inaugural run in 2016, the Honoring our Heroes Marathon event has raised nearly $162,000 for local veteran’s causes across Missouri’s Dent, Phelps, and Pulaski counties, including:

AUSA’s WARRIOR IN NEED FUND: The Warrior in Need fund of the Mid-Missouri chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is an charity which supports the Army’s mission. The fund assists a Fort Leonard Wood soldier in time of crisis.

DENT COUNTY VETERAN’S EMERGENCY FUND: This fund managed by the American Legion Post 99 in Salem is available for local veteran in time of need, such as housing, transportation, or utility bills.

VFW VETERAN ASSISTANCE (AKA, POPPY FUND): These funds in Dent, Phelps and Pulaski counties are managed by local VFW posts are maintained for veterans who need assistance; such as emergency lodging, food, disability ramps, and a myriad of other needs.

We’ve also donated to the Woody Williams Foundation, honoring Gold Star Families; Missouri Patriot Paws of Rolla, which joins a therapy dog to a deserving soldier; the American Volunteers, to help veterans needing home repairs; the Army Emergency Relief (AER) fund of Fort Leonard Wood; Veterans Memorial Park in Rolla, and more.

Our local Disabled Americans Veterans (DAV) chapter which provides transportation for veterans in our area to the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital (VA) in Columbia, MO for medical care; as well as the Warrior in Need fund; the VFW Veteran Relief funds across Dent, Phelps, Pulaski counties; the Legion Auxiliary for entertainment at the St. James Veteran’s Home; the Fort Leonard Wood AER fund; the Dent County Veteran’s Emergency Fund; and we will make a donation to the South Central Regional Veteran’s Group to help finish the Veterans Memorial Park in Rolla (which flanks part of our 10K course). We’ve also donated to MISSION 22- dedicated to preventing veteran suicide.
