Rescheduling due to Storms and possiblity of hail
New Date: June, 14, 2025
We are rescheduling the BOOK IT 5K due to the storms predicted and possibility of hail for Saturday morning, May 10th. Pending the Monroeville City Council's approval at their May 20th meeting, the race will be moved to Saturday, June 14th. River Region Timing is available on June 14th and will be our race timer. Please see the options below for transferring your registration to the new date, receiving a refund etc..
We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing everyone who can join us on June 14th.

POSTPONED DUES TO THUNDERSTORMS AND PREDICTED HAIL! NEW DATE- JUNE 14, 2025
Monroeville Main Street is excited to host our 3rd Annual BOOK IT 5K Run/Walk on May 10, 2025 in Alabama’s Literary Capital. The BOOK IT race will include a special costume contest(optional) for the best Literary Character costume (extra points if the character is from a Monroe County or Alabama author’s work). Participants will compete for unique awards and everyone is invited to stay for games, art, music, and storytelling at our Second Saturday on the Square event.
Need a place to stay while visiting Monroeville? We have wonderful Airbnb's located throughout our downtown and lots more within a 5-mile radius. Come early or make a weekend of your visit to Alabama's Literary Capital. We have beautiful shops, great restaurants, and our downtown is filled with unique murals. You will not want to miss the Monroe County Museum or the Literary Capital Sculpture and Story Trails. Come see why we are Alabama's 1st Great American Main Street!
