Join us for the brand-new Sports Illustrated Resorts Getaway 5K at the Wyndham Championship on Saturday, July 26, as we celebrate the thrill of sports and travel with an exciting race through a ready PGA TOUR course. Since it was founded in 1938, the Wyndham Championship has been creating significant charitable impact throughout central North Carolina. Through the tournament's presenting nonprofit organization, the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation, Getaway 5K will support the region's relief efforts following Hurricane Helene.
The official kickoff to the Wyndham Championship — the final tournament of the PGA TOUR regular season hosted annually at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro — the Getaway 5K race will incorporate the course of the state’s oldest professional golf tournament, this 86th edition taking place July 30 to August 3. The route starts at the Wyndham Grand hotel, Grandover Resort & Spa, and continues through the back nine of Sedgefield Country Club before finishing at the reimagined 10th green, home of the all-new Sports Illustrated Resorts activation. At the post-race party and awards celebration, participants will be the first to enjoy this fan amenity featuring food, drinks, entertainment, and activities, courtesy of Sports Illustrated Resorts. We highly encourage participants to dress in gear repping your favorite sport, team, or player!
All registrants will receive an official race T-shirt (register before July 1 to guarantee your preferred shirt size; after that, T-shirts will be available while supplies last), one ticket to the 2025 Wyndham Championship (round of choice), and entry to the post-race party and awards celebration with a raffle ticket.
Prizes for overall male and female will include Vacation Resort Certificates redeemable towards a vacation stay in popular destinations and affiliated resorts around the world, while top placements in age groups will receive Wyndham Rewards loyalty program points. A special prize will be awarded to the Ultimate Fan for best sportswear, so win us over by getting decked out in your favorite team, player, or sport’s gear.

REGISTRATION
Registration will open on Monday, April 20 at 8:00 a.m. The costs per entry are:
- $45 before July 5
- $50 after July 5
Registration will close at 8:30 a.m. on race day. If you would like to register for the race in person, you will be directed to this website. Receive a $15 discount when you register three or more participants! Receive a free entry when you register ten or more participants.
PACKET PICKUP
There will be one packet pickup prior to race day.

You must present a valid ID to pick up your race packet.

START TIME
The race will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. We strongly recommend that all participants arrive at the starting point no later than 8:30 a.m. on race day. Registration on race day will end at 8:30 a.m. and must be completed online, through this page. If you do not have your bib by 8:30 a.m. on race day, you will not receive an official finish time or be eligible for any awards.
FINISH TIME
All race participants must complete the course by 10:00 a.m., as the public roads will need to reopen.
PARKING
Parking will be available at the Grandover Resort & Spa, for those who choose to drive to the race. We recommend participants to use ride-sharing apps for their transportation needs.
POST-RACE SHUTTLE
There will be complimentary shuttle buses departing from the 10th green to return you to the Grandover Resort & Spa parking lot. The last bus will depart at 11:30 a.m.
SWAG
Participants are guaranteed to receive the following items if registered before July 20:
- Getaway 5K T-Shirt (guarantee your T-shirt size by registering before July 05; after that, T-shirts will be available while supplies last)
- Race bib with chip for on-course timing (guaranteed for registrations before July 05)
- One ticket to 2025 Wyndham Championship (round of choice)

Awards will be distributed at the post-race party, starting shortly after the final participant crosses the finish line. You must be in attendance to win awards.
RAFFLE
Raffle will be held at the post-race party for one Vacation Resort Certificate (restrictions apply). Each participant will receive one raffle ticket with your race packet. You must be in attendance to claim raffle prize.
TIMER
Junction 311 Endurance Sports will provide chip timing. Results will be available as soon as a participant crosses the finish line. We will place unique QR codes around the event, on which people can scan to see their results.
