How will MREF use my donation?
We are calling on our community to raise funds for the Maui Family YMCA – an organization that is on the ground offering aid to those effected by the devastating fires in Maui, specifically children. The Y is currently offering after school programs at four Maui elementary schools and has expanded registration and staffing to accommodate displaced students to ensure they receive the educational support they need to thrive.
Why Maui?
Schools on Maui are starting the process of reopening after wildfires demolished a historic town, killing more than 100 people.
According to the Hawaii State Department of Education, “The most impactful way we can support our friends and family on Maui is through monetary donations. While damages and longer-term needs are still being assessed, monetary support will allow for flexibility within the ongoing response efforts — to help those who need it most, when they need it most.”
