Event Rules

As the event approaches, it's important for team captains and individual participants to be aware of the registration guidelines and event rules.  To ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone involved, team captains must complete their team registrations by August 31.  While team captains take the lead on organizing their groups, individual participants still have until September 20 to sign up online.  This allows race-goers to select the team or cause they wish to support, fostering a spirited atmosphere of community and competition during the race.

Event Rules

Please take note of the guidelines on team composition, race day procedures, and participation rules to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event.

  • Team captains must register all teams by August 31 in order to participate in the event.  Only the team captains are required to create their teams; individual race participants do not need to register by this date.  This allows participants to choose the team or cause they wish to represent during the race.  Individual race participants must register online by September 20.  In-person registration will be available on September 25 and 26 at the Davis Fire Hall.

  • Teams need a minimum of five (5) members registered to qualify for team awards, and teams cannot represent multiple causes.

  • Switching from the 2k to the 5k on race day is not permitted.

  • 5k participants may switch to the 2k, but must inform event staff immediately to deactivate their bib chip before the race starts.

  • The 2k event is untimed and is designated for walking only; running in the 2k walk is not allowed.

  • Children aged five (5) and under who are registered for the 5k will receive a non-chipped bib.

  • The only wheeled transportation allowed on the race course includes wheelchairs and strollers.

  • Dogs are permitted to participate but must be on a short leash, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

  • Participants with dogs must start at the back of the pack to avoid disqualification.

  • Entries cannot be transferred, and swapping bibs will result in disqualification.
