About the Race

Please join us for the 12th Annual Race the Helix-Upstate, inspired by one family's desire to raise awareness for genetic disorders and funding for genetic research! All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation to support genetics services, testing, and research for families impacted by genetic disorders.

Location	Lake Conestee Nature Park
Address	840 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC 29607
Check-In	Starts at 8:00 AM on the day of the race Parking is available at Lake Conestee Nature Park (840 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC 29607). Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your start to park and check in, follow any posted signs or volunteers, and carpool if you can.

Race Morning Timeline

8:45 AM	Pre-race announcements and course briefing
9:00 AM	Race the Helix 5K starts
9:00 AM	Walk the Helix 1 mile starts
9:55 AM	Awards (results are live on the race page as runners finish)
10:15 AM	Course closes

Times are based on the start times above.

Live Event Details

• Pre-packaged snacks, water, and coffee will be provided.
• Check-in will start at 8:00 on the day of the race.
• Any participant who wishes to register onsite will need to do so through their personal phone/device. Onsite registration will be open until the start of the event.

T-Shirts

• T-shirts are not included with the 5K or the 1 mile Walk the Helix.
• Long sleeve t-shirts will be available for purchase for an additional $15 when you register. Please register before to guarantee your shirt and size.
• If you participate in the virtual event and purchase a t-shirt, you will need to pick up your shirt from a Greenwood Genetic Center location. Further instructions will be provided to make arrangements for t-shirt pick up.

This race is one of the community charity races in the Upstate Giving Series, which connects local races with the Upstate nonprofits they support. Every finish counts toward the series standings.

Race Policies

• Rain or shine: the race goes on in any weather. If lightning or severe weather makes it unsafe, the start may be delayed.
• No refunds: all registrations are final.
• Race-day registration: open on your phone until the race starts.
