James A. Ragan GiddyUp! Race:
TOKC created the "James A. Ragan GiddyUp! Race" to provide a safe opportunity for you to get out and run/walk your own race while simultaneously helping children triumph over pediatric cancer. Join us by running or walking to help us fund breakthrough solutions that ensure each and every child living with cancer doesn’t just survive, they Triumph Over Kid Cancer!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each year, over 10,000 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer - children with a full life ahead of them. Instead of going to school with friends and playing sports, they are forced to undergo surgery and various rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Their sense of childhood normalcy is gone, and gets replaced with grueling and horrendous obstacles that no child should ever have to face.
With over a dozen types of childhood cancers, and countless subtypes, finding cures is quite a challenge. That challenge is amplified by the fact that all types of childhood cancers combined receive only 4% of federal funding for cancer research.
About Triumph Over Kid Cancer:
Triumph Over Kid Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed in 2010. Our mission at Triumph Over Kid Cancer is to raise awareness of the horrors of pediatric cancer and the lack of funding it receives, and raise money to fund research into pediatric cancer. We also raise funds to provide kids with cancer with fun and exciting activities that bring smiles to their faces and some joy to their lives. While we look forward to the day when pediatric cancer no longer exists, we will continue to work to fund pediatric cancer research and to find ways to bring joy to the lives of kids with cancer until that day comes.
