How It All Began

The story of the Big Pumpkin Run actually started in May 2022 with the success of Shannon’s Run. After seeing the incredible community turnout and the heart behind that first event, the City of Orange reached out to 3 Bros Running Company with a unique challenge: Could we replicate that same success to help kick off the city's inaugural Orangetober Festival?

We jumped at the chance. Our vision wasn't just to organize another 5K; it was to create a landmark event that highlighted the beauty and spirit of Orange, Texas.

More Than Just a Race

3 Bros Running Company built the Big Pumpkin Run from the ground up with a focus on tourism and community pride. Our goal was to design a race that didn't just end at the finish line. We wanted participants to finish their run and then stay to explore the local shops, restaurants, and the festive atmosphere of the city we love.

From the pumpkin-lined course to the custom medals and shirts, every detail was crafted by the 3 Bros team to make Orange, Texas a premier destination for runners across the region.

The Tradition Continues in 2026

As the founders and creators of this tradition, we are honored to keep the "Big Pumpkin" spirit alive. For 2026, the official race is moving to the Port Arthur Seawall on October 3rd.
