What is it?

Have you been dreaming of doing something big, but not sure if you're ready? We have created virtual challenges based on mountain and backcountry adventures offered by AWExpeditions to give you a taste of what it's like.  These challenges give you an opportunity to test your abilities and can be done anywhere at your own pace.  If you're dreaming of doing something big, this is a great way to train. Whether working on your fitness goals or a serious climber in training, this is a fun and challenging event.

Why?

Because it's fun, challenging, and because you're doing good: proceeds for this challenge benefit the AWE Summit Scholarship Foundation, whose mission it is to bring more women into the high-altitude realm and share the empowering adventure of pushing hard in challenging environments. Your participation in this challenge will help fund someone's dream of climbing that mountain. 

What is your Why?

How It Works

This Challenge Series consists of a variety of Virtual Summit Challenges. You can participate in a single Summit Challenge, a few different one, or all of the Summits in this challenge series! Each Summit in the Virtual Challenge is based on the actual climb for that summit. You will have elevation based milestone goals that must be reached to complete the challenge. Take as long as you need and go as far as you need to get that elevation. Submit your progress for each milestone to receive your digital badges. Complete the challenge before the end of 2022 to receive your summit pin. 

Community

A virtual event doesn't mean you're alone!  You have the option to create your own team of 5 or join an existing team.  For additional support, accountability and inspiration join our private Facebook group to connect with other participants and team members.  Share your journey, your challenges, your victories, your questions and photos with a fun and friendly community.  Together you will reach your summits.
