REGISTRATION CREW – “Start Line Sprinters”

What You’ll Do:
You are the first smile participants see! Welcome guests, issue bibs and safety pins, and guide guests with incentives toward the incentives tent.

Volunteer arrival time is 7:00 AM. All volunteers will receive complimentary parking, along with a light breakfast and snacks. Volunteer arrival time is 7:00 AM.

Role Types:

Registration 1 (Pre-Check-In) - Welcome guests and give them their bib & safety pin. If they have incentives, direct them to the incentives tent.

Registration 2 (Walk-In) - Welcome guests, register the participant as a walker (runner bibs are sold out). Pay by credit card at registration. They have an option to donate and get incentives.

Registration 3 (Line Attendants) - Greet participants as they arrive at registration and guide them to the appropriate area (pre-check-in, day of registration, meet-up area, incentives tents)

Training Session: 7:30 AM

Ideal For Volunteers Who:

- Are comfortable using computer‑based registration software
- Have a loud, confident voice
- Enjoy engaging with lots of people at once
- Can stand for long periods
- Communicate clearly under pressure
- Can follow instructions efficiently
- Are familiar with the event layout and route
- Are comfortable working outdoors in any weather

WATER STATION CREW – “Hydration Heroes”

What You’ll Do:
Set up and refresh water stations along the route to help participants refuel mid‑stride.

Ideal For Volunteers Who:

- Work well with others
- Cheer on the runners/walkers while on the route
- Can stand for long durations
- Don’t mind outdoor elements
- Can lift light items when needed

CHEER SQUAD – “Spirit Squad"

Join our Spirit Squad and help bring the energy to WalkUnitedLA! As a route‑side motivator, you’ll play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience for thousands of walkers and runners. Your cheers, positivity, and enthusiasm help participants stay encouraged all the way to the finish line.

What You’ll Do:

- Cheer on participants along the 5K route
- Bring the hype with pom‑poms, cowbells, signs, and big smiles
- Celebrate every participant’s victory with high‑energy support
- Help create a fun, welcoming, and uplifting atmosphere

Ideal For Volunteers Who:

- High‑energy environments
- Supporting community events
- Spreading positivity
- Being part of a team that makes a big impact

No experience is necessary- just bring your spirit! We’ll provide the cheering supplies and placement along the route.

WAYFINDERS – “Course Navigators”

What You’ll Do:
Help participants stay on the right path! With the event map in hand, guide them from the parking lots to registration, restrooms, the finish line, and more.

Volunteer arrival time is 7:00 AM. All volunteers will receive complimentary parking, along with a light breakfast and snacks. Volunteer arrival time is 7:00 AM.

Ideal For Volunteers Who:

- Enjoy interacting with participants
- Have strong communication skills
- Can stand for long periods
- Corral participants from surrounding areas and guide them back toward the main event zone.
- Cheer on the runners/walkers on the route
- Are familiar with the race route
- Are comfortable outdoors

KID ZONE HELPERS – “Little Racers Crew”

What You’ll Do:
Keep families moving smoothly through the Kid Zone. Inform parents/guardians about activities, including inflatables like bench press, vertical bench, and kick pass.

- Have a welcoming, friendly demeanor
- Are great at giving simple instructions

BEER GARDEN ATTENDANTS – “Post‑Race Patio Pros”

Ensure alcohol‑consuming participants are of legal age by checking IDs. Greet all guests with a friendly, professional vibe to help them unwind post‑race.
