Race Packet Prep

2 Available Volunteer Options:

Friday, November 21st
Monday, November 24th

Stuff envelopes with race bibs, shirt etc. and sort race packets alphabetically by last name. Must be orderly, neat and able to focus on the task.

Packet Pick-Up High Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

2 Available Volunteer Options:

Early Packet Pick Up (Nov. 25th and Nov. 26th): hand out runner and walker race packets on either or both of the days before the race.

Day of Packet Pick Up (Nov. 27th) - hand out runner and walker race packets the morning of the event

Location

Early Packet Pick Up (Nov. 25th and Nov. 26th): Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity Main Office - 1750 Manzana Ave, Punta Gorda

Day of Packet Pick Up(Nov. 27th): FSW Punta Gorda Campus Building "O" Cafeteria

Course Monitors / Encourage Runners High Priority

At least 30 more volunteers needed.

Details

You will be stationed at various points along the course to help direct people around the course, cheering them on as they pass by and making sure they are following the course correctly.

Location

Meet with Jill Symmonds, Volunteer Coordinator on the screened porch when you check in day of the event. You will receive your instructions and location to stand to cheer on and direct runners/walkers.

Water and Finisher Medal Setup and Finish Line Attendant

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

Details

Help retrieve water from the Cafeteria loading dock, stack off to the side of the finish line, and slice open about 1/2 of the cases. Hand out water to runners/walkers as they cross the finish line.

Retrieve finisher medals from Habitat truck or look for the boxes by the finish line. As people cross the finish line, hand out a finisher's medal to each one and congratulate them.

At the end of the race place remaining water in the Habitat truck.

Refreshments and Awards Set Up

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Details

Refreshments:
Retrieve refreshments from cafeteria receiving area or truck and set up on tables. Assist runners/walkers with selection and clean-up. Tie up trash bags and place bags and folded tables along sidewalk when finished. Place remaining items in Habitat truck and offer any food leftovers to volunteers.

Awards:
Lay out awards and medals in an orderly fashion using the table on the stage. Fold up table when finished and leave on stage. Place any remaining items in Habitat truck.

Location

FSW Punta Gorda Campus in the outdoor "Bowl" area.

Course Water Station Monitor

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

Details

Set up tables in designated area near building "J". Fill cups halfway with water and hand out to runners/walkers as they pass by. Place trash cans beyond the water station so runners/walkers can toss cup in as they pass by. Make sure no cups are thrown on the ground. Clean up area when finished, tie up trash bags, fold up tables and leave both on the sidewalk. Return unused items to the Habitat truck.

Prior to the race beginning, stand outside by the cafeteria entrance and direct people for race registration and bib pick up.

Day of Registration

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Direct people to either use the QR code available to sign up and pay for their registration, or help them fill out the paper form to register. If they use the paper form, you will process their payment- Cash or credit card only....NO CHECKS ACCEPTED.

Building "O" Cafeteria. Look for registration area.
