Details

Registration/Packet Pick Up area and passing out Finisher Medals. (7:15 AM)

Instructions: Your basic role is to check people in, hand them their shirt, race bib, etc. After you close registration at 8:45 - 9:00 some of you will walk over to the finish line to hand out finisher medals to all finishers…cheer loud. EASY! Some of you will stay at the registration area to make sure our stuff does not walk away. Runners will only be able to exchange shirts AFTER the race.

The start/finish line is on S. Mint between BB&T Ball Park and Romare Bearden Park.
Parking: There is no reserved parking but you can try the gravel lot on the corner of S. Graham and MLK Blvd or the parking deck.

Course Monitors

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Course Monitors. You will need transportation to your location. (7:30 AM)

Instructions: Your basic role is to make sure cars do not impede the runners, be there for emergency, point the runners in the right direction, and cheer loud. Once the last police car has gone by you, you can drive back to the start, return your flag, and enjoy in the fun.

You can drive staight to your location when it is assigned.

Water Stop

Details

Water Stop Volunteers – (7:30 AM)

Instructions: You will need transportation to your location. Your water stop equipment (table, water, cups, gloves, etc.) will already be there and set up for you. There will also be instructions in the plastic tub. Your basic role is to fill the table up with cups fill 2/3 full. Hand out the cups to runners, cheer load, and place trash in the trash box. When the last police car passes you, make sure things are cleaned up and you may go. EASY!

Finish Line - Set Up/Take Down

Finish Line and Sponsorship Village Set Up – (7:15 AM)

Instructions: You will be given your volunteer shirt and instructions. Your basic role is to set up the finish line area which includes but not limited to; finish line arch, fencing, hang signs, set up water table, place out trash boxes. Once finish line set up is done you will see if the sponsors need any help with their set up

Food Table volunteers – (7:15 AM)

Instructions: You will be given your volunteer shirt and instructions. Your basic role is to set up the food and water tables near the finish line, cut bagels in ¼ and bananas in ½. Once the finishers come in, please continue to keep food tables and water replenished. DO NOT ALLOW RUNNERS TO DRINK WATER BOTTLES BEFORE THE RACE or we will run out for the finishers.
