You'll check runners in, get them their timing chip (race morning only), hand out their sweet free swag, and be ready to answer any questions they might have. (Don't worry there will be staff around to direct them to if you don't know all the answers!)

Pavilion Aid Station

Pavilion Aid Station, Lead High Priority

You've volunteered an aid station for Tejas before. You take the reins. You're the captain of this ship!

Aid Station leads are a huge help. This role has the proven expertise to help new volunteers through the experience, showing them the ropes on how to prepare the food, mix the Tailwind and how to be a knock-out support to the runners. As an experienced team member, you will communicate with event organizers if supplies are running low or emergencies arise.

This role isn’t just about distributing water and snacks to participants. We encourage themes, costumes, and fun flare!

By offering encouragement and support; monitoring for signs of medical distress; and keeping the area clean, Aid station volunteers offer a personal level of support to each runner that comes through. Overall, your friendly presence ensures participants stay hydrated, energized, and motivated throughout the event.

The sweep follows the last runner picking up confidence markers and signage along the way. This can be done as a two-person team or a solo adventure if you prefer some quiet time with the trees (or cactus).
