The Gelof family is deeply entrenched in the Delaware community and have long been involved in charitable initiatives including combating homelessness and creating opportunities for affordable athletic participation. Zack and Jake Gelof hope to build on the family legacy of community involvement and giving back with a focus on youth. They strive to support youth development with guidance and resources pertaining to education, athletic participation, health and overall wellness.

Zack Gelof

Zack Gelof was a three-sport varsity athlete at Cape Henlopen High School where he won a baseball state championship in 2018 and was named Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year. He went on to star as the University of Virginia (UVA) Cavaliers’ third baseman and started all 137 possible games of his college career. In 2021, Zack led his team in runs, hits, doubles, home runs, total bases, walks, multi-hit and mutli-RBI games, and was the lone Cavalier named to the College World Series All- Tournament Team before being drafted 60th overall by the Oakland Athletics (2021). He made his Major League debut as the Oakland Athletics second baseman in 2023 and has since made history as “the first player in the Modern Era to record eight or more home runs and six or more stolen bases in their first 25 games.” (mlb.com)

Jake Gelof

Jake Gelof was a two-sport varsity athlete at Cape Henlopen High School before transferring to IMG Academy as an upperclassman. He was also on the Cape Henlopen High School State Championship team in 2018. Jake began his collegiate baseball career by joining his brother at the University of Virginia. He became the All-Time Home Run leader, broke the single-season Home Run record and RBI record (2022, 2023), and was a two-time semifinalist for both the prestigious Golden Spikes Award and Dick Houser Trophy. He was a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American and named Team Member of the Year in 2023. Jake was drafted 60th overall by the Los Angeles Dodgers (2023).
