In Chinese culture and other Asian countries, the lion symbolizes power, wisdom, and superiority.
Lion dances are performed at Lunar New Year and other traditional, cultural, and religious festivals or big occasions to bring good fortune and chase away evil spirits.
They bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year.
