Our Mission

The misson of the Kendall County Women's Shelter is to provide a safe emergency shelter in a supportive environment where Texas Hill Country victims of domestic violence and their children can begin the healing process and recieve the support services they need to build new lives. 

Services Offered

Emergency Shelter

A safe place for women, men, and children to lay their head when they are in immediate dangerous situation. With the help of the generous community, we are able to supply essential household needs when clients are in our care. Clothing, food, diapers, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, feminine hygene products, and so much more. 

Case Management

On-site case managers are able to provide clients access to resources such as TANF, SNAP Benefits, Medicaid, housing, school enrollment, budget managment, and so much more. They also provide accompaniment and support to clients while attending court proceedings, interacting with law enforecment, Child Protective Services, and in some cases, medical advocacy. Case management services are offered to clients in-shelter and are also available to non-residential clients. 

Child Advocacy

Provides assistance with school enrollment, transportation to school, school supplies, clothing, any and all school related conserns. Our child advocate also provides resources for childcare assistance, summer/day camps,  and extra-curricular activities. The advocate also arranges recreational activites and holiday parties for the children to do when they are in our care. 

Legal Advocacy

Assistance with applying for an emergency or permanent protective order; assistance with divorce and child custody matters, accompaniment to court and immigration issues. 

Crisis Intervention

Trauma informed trained staff is present on-site 24/7 to offer compassionate support and help when a client is in a crisis situation. 

Crisis Hotline

Our hotline 1-800-495-8078 is staffed 24/7 with an advocate who is readily available to take a crisis call. 

Counseling Services

KCWS has a counselor on site who is certified to provide counseling services to clients in our care. 

Support Groups

KCWS provide various support groups to clients such as parenting classes, budgetment management, recreational groups, and counseling support groups. 

On-site Pet Kennel

We have a multi pet kennel that can provide safety for all animals. 

Transportation 

KCWS offers tranportation to housing opportunites, medical appointmnets, criminal justice agencies, school related appointments, and other goal related requests. We have two used unmarked transportation vehicles that we use to provide these tranport requests.
