Parade Rules

Rules and Regulations for the 2022 Christmas Parade
All participants must agree to read and abide by all rules listed below!

1. Each parade participant must present evidence of liability insurance for each entry
including, but not limited to, all motor vehicles, trailers, and any individual
assigned.
2. All entries must be driven by persons 18 years of age or older with a valid driver
license.
3. Non-Commercial & Commercial vehicles including Fire Trucks, Ambulances and
Police Cars are asked to use discretion and not excessively blow their horn or
sirens throughout the parade route. The noise detracts from the judging of entries
and the music of the parade.
4. No semi’s or tractor trailers will be allowed to participate in the parade. There are
multiple turns where the turning radius is too tight and poses a risk to bystanders
watching the parade.
5. A parade entry will be defined as having no more than 3 vehicles participating.
Additional vehicles will result in another $100 entry fee for your organization.
6. No parade participant may ride with feet hanging over the side of the float.
7. Each entry shall have proper supervision at all times.
8. All parade participants below the age of 18 must be seated at all times.
9. Participants may not be added or removed from floats during parade.
(Except during emergencies.)
10. Each entry shall have a spotter in the cab of the vehicle; who is 18 years of age or
older, viewing the float at all times. (In addition to the driver)
11. No passengers or riders on farm machinery; other than the operator.
12. All floats that use a flat-bed trailer are encouraged to provide some sort of skirting
around bottom to keep individuals from falling underneath the float.
13. Floats must be in line no later than 4:30pm for review by the judges.
14. Maximum height of parade floats will be 12.5 feet.
15. Pick-Up trucks with passengers must have the tailgate closed or enclosed backs.
16. Entries should not stop along parade route for any reason except if the parade
stops or in the event of an emergency.
17. Entries must maintain steady movement along designated parade route only, with
a 20-30 foot cushion between entries.
18. Entries experiencing difficulties must move out of the parade route.
19. Parade officials will designate "Santa Claus." Any other Santa Claus (including
Mrs. Claus) will not be allowed. This avoids confusion for small children.
20. Stuffed or fake Santa's are acceptable.
21. All horse and animals must have equipment inspected for safety.
22. All parade entries should be boarded or unloaded at designated sites.
