Calling all dessert lovers!

Sweet Charity returned in 2025 with tremendous success — a joyful evening filled with community, connection, and plenty of desserts! Thanks to our generous sponsors, enthusiastic bakers, and supportive guests, the event was an unforgettable event.

We are thrilled to announce that Sweet Charity will be back again at the Capitol Market on September 1, 2026.

The proceeds from this event supports the work of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley. But let’s be honest—it’s not about us. It’s about the incredible local bakers and confectioners who make this night unforgettable. Their creativity and craftsmanship are what make Sweet Charity a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Here’s How It Works

Each participating baker will showcase a single signature dessert.

Your Taste Passport gives you access to sample-sized servings prepared for you, our guests.

A panel of celebrity judges will award prizes in Taste, Creativity, and Presentation.

And you get to vote, too—for the recipient of the coveted People’s Choice Award!

Tickets: $50

Each ticket includes a Taste Passport—your all-access pass to sample every delicious entry.

Every Bite Gives Back

100% of event proceeds benefit Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley, a volunteer-powered nonprofit providing free transportation, grocery support, safety-focused home repairs, and social connection to local seniors.

Hosted by Adam Harris

We’re thrilled to welcome back the always-entertaining Adam Harris as our event emcee. He’ll guide us through a night full of flavor, fun, and sweet surprises—with great music and engaging activities throughout the evening.

With Special Music by Steve Himes

Steve Himes is a multi-talented musician whose taste in tunes crosses nearly all genres. Having him as part of this event is a long-standing tradition, and one we are lucky to share with attendees.
