The ultimate takeout bag is back!

Thanks to the generosity of the community, the first Taste The Town event was a huge success. Together, we raised over $38,000 on behalf of a local non-profit and 9 Oak Park restaurants and bakeries. We are back for round 2 to help a new charity and highlight more tasty Oak Park eats. 

Due to logistical constraints, we are unable to offer a vegetarian-only bag at this time. We hope to develop a process that will allow us to offer more options such as vegetarian or gluten-free, but in the meantime, we would like to thank you for understanding as we continue to learn and grow.       

What's on the savory menu?

Each savory takeout bag will feed a family of four and feature food from six restaurants. The portions are larger than an appetizer but smaller than an entrée. The food will be cold when picked up, so we will be providing heating instructions.  

Little Gem Cafe: Orecchiette pasta with crumbled Italian sausage, basil arugula pesto, and heirloom cherry tomatoes

Amerikas: Chicken tamal, Jalapeño & cheese tamal (VEG), Vegan tamal (V) 

Surf's Up: Fried catfish with dirty rice and grilled shrimp

Trattoria 225: Linguini Aglio olio  with asparagus, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes, and olive oil (VEG)

Khyber Pass: Chicken tikka masala with saag (spinach and ginger) served with basmati rice

Carnivore: Lamb and lentil soup (GF)

Takeout bags can be picked up at Nineteenth Century Club. For safety reasons, please adhere to your designated ticket time.
