I am participating in the Johns Hopkins Childrenās Center Miracles in Motion 5K in honor of my brother, Carson.
Carsonis my brub, and I am his sissy. We were two peas in a pod in the truest way. Carson was the natural leader, and I was happy to be right there with him, tucked under his wing. That was just us.
He looked out for me in a way only Carson could. He protected me, made sure I was included, made sure I was treated fairly, and always seemed to know when I needed him. He was proud of me, he loved me deeply, and he took his role as my big brother seriously. Being loved by Carson was something special.
Carson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 16. No child should ever have to face something so unfair, and no family should have to watch someone they love go through it. But Carson was never defined by cancer. He was funny, smart, stubborn, loving, sarcastic, protective, and unforgettable. He was Carson. He was Bee Boy. He was loved beyond words, and he always will be. 🐝
I am walking with OsteoCure Warriors: Bad to the Bone, a team made up of families connected by osteosarcoma. Some are walking for children who are still fighting. Some are walking for children who have gone before us. Some are walking for children who are now NED, with no evidence of disease. Every family has a story, and every step matters.
Your donation supports Johns Hopkins Childrenās Center and Pediatric Oncology, helping children and families facing the unimaginable and supporting the hope for better treatments, better outcomes, and someday, a cure.
Thank you for supporting me, remembering Carson with me, and helping keep his light moving forward.
BEEcause of Carson, we keep going. 🐝
