Pedal the Cause

In 1965, I had the joy of being my Aunt Charlotte’s flower girl, scattering petals of love at her wedding. Sixty years later, I’m honored to ride in her name in this year’s Pedal the Cause, scattering “pedals of promise” in her fight against cancer.

My beloved Aunt Charlotte was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and began chemotherapy in August. As a two-time cancer survivor, (stage 3 colon (2012) and breast (2017), I know firsthand the courage and resilience this journey demands. That’s why every mile I ride and every dollar I raise is a tribute to her strength—and a step toward a cure. I am riding for the 11th year on the Powered by Hope team and honored to ride for my aunt and in memory of so many whose lives have been taken too soon by this insidious disease.
