Pedal the Cause

Just as we were starting our 8th grade year - 2 years ago my friend Adam was diagnosed with leukemia.  He went from a healthy 8th grader playing baseball one week to sick and fighting for his life the next week.  It was unbelievable watching everything he had to go through- bone marrow biospies, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, so many medicines, and so many sticks, scans and other tests.  He was so sick.  When he was a few weeks he - he started to lose his hair.  Our group of friends knew we couldn't do much to help him physically but we wanted him to know he had our support- we went after school one day and all shaved our heads with him.   Each day he went through a new challenge.  He missed pretty much all of our 8th grade year going through intense treatment. We were in touch with him but it was hard watching him go through that and not being able to do much to help him.   He is still going through treatment- but will finish at the end of this year.  I am riding in Adam's honor- raising money for research to find a cure so that no one else has to go though what Adam has gone through.   Please donate if you can- no amount is too small.  I'll be honored to be riding for him on Sunday September 20th.
