I'm running 26.2 miles to support kids and families in the childhood cancer community
My name is Maggie LoSchiavo.
I've decided to run The Hartford Marathon in hopes of qualifying for Boston in April of 2026. I've asked my high school cross country coach, James McCaffrey, to help me train for the marathon. However, I will be running under the nonprofit organization LivFree in honor of his daughter Mia who passed away from Pediatric Cancer while I was in high school. Seeing her fight, along with her family, has inspired me and impacted the way I live my life.
Mia's motto "Make It Amazing" is something I carry every day and has taught to me to live life to the fullest. When speaking with McCaff and planning my training block, the first day happens to be Mia's Birthday, June 19th. Through LivFree, every $1,500 will provide one moment of joy to support kids and families in the pediatric cancer community.
My goal is to raise $3,000, which divided out across each day that I train is ironically $26 a day, the length of the marathon. Please consider donating and helping me to reach my goal!
