WHY I Ride

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

This year I am riding in memory of my wife Belinda Dana.  Belinda was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma (brain tumor) in August 2013.  Belinda fought a good and long battle. Sadly, she became quite ill in 2023 and passed away on January 28, 2024. I am asking for your support for Pedal the Cause/Siteman Cancer Center.  I am asking for a donation of $54. (54 is a derivative of 18 and in Hebrew the number 18 is Chai which means LIFE). I am also riding in memory of Belinda's mother who passed away in February 2023 from a Glioblastoma.  The Siteman Cancer Center is a comprehensive cancer center.  The Siteman Cancer Center offers access to a full range of advanced diagnostic and treatment services and over 700 interventional clinical trials, which are investigational therapies.

Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser $54, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

This will be my 11th year riding as a Yellow Jersey. My goal is to raise $2500 for The Siteman Cancer Center.  Thank you for your donations, help, and support.

My best, Mark
