APRIL 20TH  (Tuesday) - “No Cook Tuesday”

Take the day off from cooking and let a local Hoboken Eatery do all the work.

The Brass Rail will be donating 10% of it’s proceeds for the evening to The Hoboken Shelter’s Back To The 80s Fundraiser! CLICK HERE to check out their menu and order a delicious meal that gives back!

Feeding our community has taken each and every one of you and we could not have pulled it off in 2020 without the generosity of restaurants like these:

APRIL 23RD (Friday) – "Cheers To The Weekend"
Check out THE SHEP for a celebratory drink! Support local business and your community!

The Hoboken Shelter is built on a history of the community coming together to help serve those most in need. The founding congregations that established the Shelter in 1982 sought to meet a growing need in the community by working together. One local restaurant & bar is honoring that history with a unique donation that acknowledges the Shelter’s founding. Joseph Schiavo, owner of The Shepard and The Knucklehead has acknowledged the Shelter’s history with donations to the founding congregations that support the work of the Hoboken Shelter.

This week “The Shep” is joining The Hoboken Shelter to encourage volunteering. The Shelter’s National Volunteer Week Challenge is a great way to show love to your community! When you sign up, you’ll be encouraged to complete acts of service, and log them on your personal results page. After a week of volunteering, The Shelter is encouraging you to head over to The Shep to “Cheers to Weekend” and celebrate a week of volunteering and Hoboken eateries.

The Shepherd & the Knucklehead, aka “The Shep,” is a family-owned business with two pubs in New Jersey with one of the widest craft beer selections in the tristate area. The original Haldon pub was established in 1998 and is run by owner Chris Schiavo. Located in Hoboken, the family’s second pub was established in 2016 and is headed up by Chris’s son, Joe. The unique name describes the duality which makes humans complex and is also the title of a book, written by Chis, in 2001. The Shep’s goal is for a wide variety of patrons to enjoy excellent beer and food! They also enjoy giving back to our community and support charities both locally and globally.

We would like to thank The Shep for this unique donation that acknowledges our organization’s rich history, pays tribute to our founding congregations and furthers efforts to help end homelessness.
