Why We Walk (And Run)
Daisy's Story
On June 9, Daisy arrived at SPCA Cincinnati through our Shelter2Shelter program carrying more than the weight of her fractured body. After her original owner surrendered two severely injured puppies, one tragically did not survive, and Daisy faced an infection and a shattered leg that threatened her future. Immediately, our team understood the assignment: she needed a chance, expert medical care, and people willing to believe her story wasn't over.
This is why we run. This is why we walk.
In just 21 days, generous supporters made it possible for Daisy to receive lifesaving surgery, recover in the safety of SPCA Cincinnati's foster program, and begin healing in ways only compassion can accomplish. Medicine repaired her leg, but a foster home gave her confidence, comfort, and the freedom to simply be a puppy again. Every registration, every fundraiser, and every donation helps create stories like Daisy's for animals who have nowhere else to turn.
On June 30, Daisy's foster, Autumn, made that love permanent by adopting her. Today, Daisy runs, plays, cuddles with her family and canine sibling, and enjoys the life every animal deserves, not because she was lucky, but because a community chose to care. Thousands of animals are still waiting for that same opportunity to heal, recover, and blossom into beloved companions. When you participate in Tails on the Trail, you aren't simply crossing a finish line, you are helping write the next story of hope. This is why we run. This is why we walk. We invite you to join us on this path!
