Women Veterans Day is observed on June 12 in the United States, a date chosen to mark the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act.

This Women Veterans Day join us from wherever you are in the nation and run or walk with us in solidarity with the women who have proudly worn the uniform and defended our constitution with their lives.

This race is designed to bring awareness and attention to an issue that should cease to exist in our country, veteran homelessness. Women veterans are among the fastest growing population of veterans to experience homelessness and this is often due to lack of resources or programs designed to host women and their children. This Women Veterans Day we challenge you to put yourself to the test and run 3.1 miles proudly donning your race bib displaying the reason for your run. Additionally we hope that you'll consider donating whatever amount you are able to in support of Final Salute Inc, to help provide safe and suitable housing for women and children of women veterans.

About Final Salute Inc.

Final Salute Inc. was founded in 2010 by a woman Veteran and cancer survivor who became aware of the many homeless women Veterans in the United States.

She realized a need for an organization designed to meet and understand the unique needs of homeless women Veterans and their children.

There may no longer be front lines in war; however, female Veterans feel they are put at the end of the line when seeking housing and other supportive services.

Since the Revolutionary War, over 2,000,000 women have served with honor. They have fulfilled their obligations to their country. We need to support them during their time of need.

With the help of the American people, foundation, and corporate supporters, we know our mission is achievable.

Why do we do this? Because it's the right thing to do.

Join your Ms. Veteran America Semi-finalist Amber C. in the race to help provide homeless women veterans with safe and suitable housing. Any amount can make a difference!
