RAGBRAI for Sportable

Thu June 29 - Mon July 31

Richmond, VA 23220 US

About RAGBRAI for Sportable

Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to announce its Chief Executive Officer, Hunter Leemon, will participate in RAGBRAI, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, July 22-29, 2023. Through his 500-mile ride, Hunter's goal is to raise funds to benefit Sportable’s mission to make sports accessible and inclusive in RVA.

We are thrilled to share that our community's overwhelming support has allowed us to
successfully meet and exceed a $10,000 matching challenge from a generous  anonymous donor - raising over $20,000 so far! If we can reach a new goal of $30,000, it will unlock an additional $5,000 pledged by one of Hunter’s Randolph-Macon College alum!

How to Participate

Community members are encouraged to join Hunter remotely by logging miles throughout the month of July by running, walking, pushing, or cycling, while raising funds through a multi-tiered, peer-to-peer fundraiser.

Signing up to participate is free. When you register, you'll have the opportunity to set up your own peer-to-peer campaign and goal. It's your chance to make a meaningful impact while pursuing your personal mile goal, whether it's one mile or five hundred. And by participating in this fundraising campaign, you will contribute directly to Sportable's mission.

Together, we can create a lasting impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities through the power of sports. Join us today, log your miles, and make a donation!

Hunter's Ride

“I am excited to combine two of my passions – cycling and Sportable – by participating in RAGBRAI. Last summer, I had the chance to ride 52 miles for the final leg of Dan Schmitt’s cross-country Kon-Tiki Challenge and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

I felt like I needed a challenge this year and was inspired to push myself to complete the 500-mile ride across Iowa while raising funds for Sportable’s mission,” Leemon added. “I am looking forward to this life-changing experience and I encourage Sportable members and supporters to join me virtually by logging miles, making a donation, or cheering me on.”
