Event Description
Join us for The Breast Run Ever — a fun-filled 5K at Mount Trashmore’s scenic lake trail in Virginia Beach, all in support of the fight against breast cancer! This lighthearted event, happening on October 12 at 9:15 AM, welcomes participants of all paces — whether you’re running, walking, or strolling with family. Each registration comes with a pink nylon race shirt featuring fun retro art, a medal for all finishers, and other race-day swag like drawstring bags and snacks.
We’ll be awarding prizes to the top finishers in both the men's and women's categories, but the real victory is helping raise funds for breast cancer research — 100% of the race profits will be donated to Susan G. Komen supporting this important cause. After the race, stick around for music, games, and activities at the Mount Trashmore stage, plus plenty of community fun. This event is not only for a great cause, but it’s also proudly organized by a local high school student — so come out, show your support, and make a difference, one step at a time!

Course Info

The 5K route begins near Picnic Shelter One and follows the Lake Trail, taking a short detour around Mount Trashmore’s smaller “sister” hill. From there, the path continues around Lake Trashmore, with the Seventh Sheltermarking the turnaround point. Racers will then backtrack along the same route, with the start line doubling as the finish line. There will be volunteers and signage along the course to guide and support participants throughout the race.
Water Stations
Two water stations will be available: one at the start/finish line and another at the turnaround point to keep you hydrated along the course.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located at the north end of Parking Lot 2 and near the start/finish area. These are the standard facilities at Mount Trashmore and are fully ADA accessible.
Medical Support
A first aid station will be located near the start/finish line (see course map), staffed by a licensed physician. Volunteers will also be stationed every 0.5 mile to offer assistance if needed.
Check-In Booths
Check-in booths will be located near the large picnic shelter. This is where you can pick up your race swag, chip timer, and other race-day goodies.
