Spencer Legg is a sophomore forward on the College of Charleston's Division 1 men's basketball team despite his Type 1 diabetes (TD1) diagnosis as a child. He prides himself on being both a leader and team player on and off the court. His strength is the ability to create and foster positive connections within a team. The willingness of his teammates to join him in spreading awareness about Type 1 diabetes is a testament to the impact that Legg has been able to create since joining the roster. They fully support him in his efforts to manage his condition while competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics. With the establishment of the Collegiate Diabetes Educators Foundation, Legg hopes to inspire other TD1s to pursue their athletic goals by providing the education and resources required to properly manage their condition.
