Welcome to our team’s fundraising page!
We’re excited to participate in the Miracles in Motion 5K to support Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Your donation will directly benefit patient- and family-centered care, education, and research for the more than 100,000 patients they serve each year, including our dear Charlie.
In mid-November, we noticed that Charlie was much smaller and more lethargic compared to his twin brother, Henry. After an urgent visit to the ER on November 22, Charlie began a challenging 7-month hospital stay. On January 22, he was transferred to Johns Hopkins Children's Center, where the dedicated team worked tirelessly to find answers. After extensive testing, Charlie was diagnosed with Infantile Myofibromatosis in late February. Infantile myofibromatosis is a rare, benign tumor that usually grows in the skin, muscles, bones, and sometimes in the chest or abdomen. In Charlie's case, the myofibromas grew on bones in his legs, arms, hips, & spine and all throughout his digestive system.
The Pediatric Oncology team at the Children's Center researched and developed a treatment plan for Charlie, which has led to gradual improvements in his condition. We are deeply grateful for their exceptional care and commitment. To celebrate Charlie’s progress and the boys' first birthday, we are taking part in the Miracles in Motion fundraiser on September 21.
Please consider making a donation to support ongoing research for Charlie’s condition and to help other families facing similar challenges. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your support!
