Welcome to my fundraising page!

Early last year, I heard those words, "We fear it is cancer."  And my journey with UW Carbone Cancer Center began at that moment.  Throughout the year, I was cared for by my Team of specialists at UW during my fight with breast cancer.  I continue to fight with medications and immunotherapy and guidance from my UW Team.

Last year's chemo and radiation treatments ended on a Friday, and two days later I was excited to join the Badger Challenge to walk with family and friends who were with our Team Triple E + Steve running, riding and walking in honor of my journey, along with the journeys of my niece, brother-in-law, and my sister-in-law, Madge.  Recently my sister, has recently been added to our list of those we fight for.

Sometimes we participate in events like this to show support, get a new t-shirt, get exercise, or whatever reason you might have.  I can honestly say it is so much more powerful of a purpose when you or your own family is going through such a fight.  That is why I proudly sign up each year to help UW Carbone Cancer Center continue and accelerate cancer research and patient treatment with advanced team of cancer minds, ideas, and technologies right in our own backyard.  Cancer creeps into everyone's life, so we must continue to support this event to help raise funds and beat this horrible disease.

Badger Challenge takes place in September and 100% of all participant-raised dollars (yes, every penny!) are presented to the most promising UW cancer initiatives both in the laboratory and clinic setting.  The funds are presented to the newly announced Scholar Class by January of the next year. This is done quickly so the funds can make an impact in the labs and hospital helping patients and families immediately.
